Step 1:Yes, I've included nifty little 'steps' to help you follow along x) But first things first, adopt a pet.
You can go to one of two [main] places to get a pet. There's the Adopt-A-Pet, located on the screen when you first go to Subeta (it's also called the home screen), or the Adopt-R-Us, which is grammatically correct, of course. That's located in Veta Lake.
If this is your first pet, after you've named it and all that (or just adopted it from the adopt-r-us), make it be your active pet. You can do this by going to pets in the left column, then clicking on the image of your pet. So now once you have an active pet, you're allowed to play more games, and do a lot more stuff, like training, etc. You can always change your active pet later, if you want to.
Another important thing is making sure your pet is happy, well-fed, and healthy.
common stats
Hunger: Bloated
Happiness: Very Happy
Level: 9
Gender: Male
Health: 10/10
Strength: 11
Defense: 10
Intelligence: 16
You want to keep your pets happy and not hungry ^^ If you ever need to buy food, the best way to do it is to head over to the Main Shops and buy food there.
99% of the time it's cheaper than user shops. What I do whenever I shop, is keep two window tabs open, one in the actually shops, then the other tab at a shop search, so I can copy the name of the item into the search and look it up, to see if it's a good buy at the store or not.
If you're poor, there's a place in Riverside Valley where you can get free food and a free gift! :D
To use the toys and food, go to your inventory, then click on the item. It'll give you an option to add the item to your vault, shop, or feed it to/play with a pet. You want to use /that/ option. And then, in a matter of seconds, your pet is happy and full! Yay.
You can also use the Lakeview Resort to your full advantage. The base cost per day, per pet, is 100 sPs. If you ask me, the different Food Packages don't really make a difference. Your pet would just be fed less often if you chose the lesser packages... however, if you insist on spoiling your pet, here are the details for each package:
1. Basic - Plays and feeds your pet once an hour
2. Bronze - Plays and feeds your pets twice an hour
3. Silver - Plays and feeds your pets three times an hour
4. Gold - Your pet would be fully bloated each day. (presumably the pet is played with and fed more frequently than the other packages)
Step 2: This phase is all about enhancing your pet! You can go to Riverside Valley and use their training center to increase your pets stats. How this works, is your level must be 2.5 times greater than the level of the stats. So raise your pets level before you move on to strength training.
Another
way of "training" is reading to your pet. Buy a couple books or magazines and read them to your pet. You can buy books at almost any store in each city, but mainly get them from the Book Nook, located in the Main Shops. You also might want to double check the price, just to make sure that you're getting it for a good deal. So now after you've read your pet some books, once you get to a certain level, your pets capacity for understanding spells starts to increase! You can buy spells from player shops, or synthesize them at the Secluded Shrine in the Sacred Lands.
Another great way to glamorize your pet is with potions or the
zapper. Yes, potions will turn your pets into beautiful colors, whereas the zapper may make them hideous creatures... o_o To see a list of colors, head on over to the Colors section. ^^ However, potions can be pretty costly, and you have a better chance at adopting a painted pet from the pound than buying a potion.. some cost well into the millions of sP!
One common question regarding potions is: where do you get them? Well, one of the most obvious things you can do to obtain a potion is to buy it from another user. However, some users tend to be greedy and would sell their potions at a none-too-benign a price. (i.e. Reborn Potion circa 5.5 million sPs) Where, then, should you go to get these potions for cheaper? Restock them from the Magic Box, of course! Here you can grab a potion for less than 20,000 sPs each! But~ Potions restocks are /extremely/ rare. Make sure you are advanced in your restocking skills before you try to camp at the Magic Box for a potion!
**Two other places you could grab a potion at:
Token Shop (350+ Wizard Tokens needed, potion restocks are random)
Cash Shop (The Angelic Potion here must be bought with real money; $20.00 to be exact)
Step 3: Give your pet a minion! Every pet likes to be his own leader, good or bad... well, that's up to them, but why not give 'em a minion of their own? They can finally start an army! That is their dream, don't you know? xD To equip a minion, or change out the current one, make sure your pet doesn't have a minion with it at the moment. (To remove a minion, click on the existing minion on the 'Pets' page and click 'Remove from pet'. Easy!) Go to your inventory, then click on the minion. Choose the option that says 'Give to [target pet's name here]'.
When
you want to rename the Minion from 'Minion', go to the pets section, and instead of clicking on your pet, give the little minion a click. There, you can rename it :D If your looking to buy a minion, go to the Minion Market; the prices are a lot cheaper there!
