TOUR 2009
Tour Update
Thursday 4th June
Tourists,
Things are now moving apace as the 2009 Hatfield
tour approaches.
We are now a party 16 strong, that combines every
conceivable attribute that it is possible for humans to possess (god help ‘em).
Tour Shirts
The tour shirts are ordered & being produced now. I have received your sizes & ordered what you have requested.
These shirts will be handed out as soon as we are all on the train at Stevenage on Monday morning. They will only be removed whilst you are playing in a game!!!!!
For those of you driving, I will attempt to get
your shirts to you for your respective journeys.
Travel
There will be 12 of us travelling to & from
Morpeth on the train. Please note that the
train will leave STEVENAGE train station at 09.49 am on Mon 22nd
June. I suggest that you aim to get there by
09.30 at the latest. If you miss this train your ticket will be invalid for any
further trains to the same destination, so make sure that you allow plenty of
time to get to Stevenage station.
Note: A reminder to those of you
with young persons travel tickets, you need to produce a valid card on the day
of travel. DON’T leave it to the morning that we travel to get it.
If any of you can bring cards, poker sets etc for
the journey, I’m sure that it will make the hours fly by. I will bring
Backgammon (Rock n Roll). Anyone got an ipod docking station & speakers????
Luggage/Kit
Pravin will be driving upto Morpeth & has kindly
offered to take some luggage/kit with him. This will be a huge help as all of us
n the train will only have the usual overhead luggage facilities on the train. I
suggest that those of you that need to travel to Stevenage make use of this
facility. It would obviously be a great gesture to Pravin to contribute to his
travel costs.
Accommodation
We have been allocated 3 cottages at the
Micklewood Pard complex that is within the grounds of Longhirst Hall. I have put
together a best fit room plan that I hope suits all of you.
Fixtures
As I write this I am still awaiting confirmation
of the 3 fixtures that we have asked for. We are currently looking to play
a 2020 game on Monday evening, a 40 over game on Tue, & Wed. Then trot along to
Newcastle races on Thursday. I will update this as soon as I find out.
Pre tour Get Together
I think that it would be a good idea to meet up
on Sunday 21st June at the club
for an hour
8pm – 9pm. (I
know that the 1sts are away that day so it may be half 8). Primarily for me to
hand out train tickets to those of you travelling on Monday, that way if I’m
late for any reason the rest of you can go!!!
Also this would present a perfect opportunity to
“load up” Pravin’s van. We need to think about exactly how much kit we need to
actually take with us. We seemed to manage quite well with this last year.
I’m sure that this tour is going to be one to
remember for years to come.
