While in attendance at the recent red carper premier of "Saw VI" (
Review), the dudes over at BD ran into filmmaker Anthony Di Blasi, who is next set to direct a film adaptation of Clive Barker's novel
Pig Blood Blues. Di Blasi informed them that he still plans to make good on the adapt, and also...might retitle the project. "PIG BLOOD BLUES is next," he reveals. "[I'm] thinking about changing the title. It doesn't mean anything. It takes place at a reform center for boys and the name of the center is called "Tether Down" and I always thought that would be a good title. We start this January in the UK again." "Pig Blood Blues" is a supernatural story set in a juvenile detention facility, and if the film comes to fruition, which it's looking like it will...hopefully it'll be better than "Driftwood", a previous horror film which was set at a residence of sorts for trouble youth. Di Blasi's most recent project meanwhile, another Clive Barker adaptation film,
Dread...will debut in late January as part of After Dark Films Horrorfest 4. |
