Johnston talks new "Jurassic Park" trilogy!

Joe After some vague comments the last time he mentioned a new "Jurassic Park" trilogy (story), now filmmaker Joe Johnston is chatting up the new trilogy once again, this time to Hitfix. Before moving on to talk of the new trilogy however, he was asked if they had scrapped plans for the old Jurassic Park 4 idea where weaponized dinos would run amok, upon which he replied..."We have." He then went on to discuss the current idea for the new trilogy. "There is an idea now for number four that is different from the first three, and that is more or less the beginning of a new trilogy, in that it sends the whole franchise off in a new direction," he explains. "It's not about the dinosaur park anymore. It's about all-new characters. So Steven's busy right now with the stuff he's doing and I've got to do "Captain America," but hopefully afterwards, we'll find time to develop it. And really... it's something different that we haven't seen before in the "Jurassic Park" world." Good to hear the old idea is officially dead as a door knob. Bad news to hear that we seemingly won't be seeing "JP 4" until 2012 though.
