The word "Reboot" seems to be the word-of-the-year when it comes to horror movies. Case in point, io9 recently chatted with Ryan Kavanaugh (pictured left), producer of the upcoming new
The Crow movie, which is being written by Stephen Norrington. And while the early word was that the film was a remake on the original "The Crow", Kavanaugh revealed that the new film should be considered to be more of a reboot of the franchise. "It's not a remake it's literally a relaunch of the franchise," he tells io9. Kavanaugh then went on to discuss how the makeup-effects would be handled for the new "Crow". "He'll have makeup, but it will be different," explains Kavanaugh. "The best way to compare it is the first 'Batman' and 'Batman Begins'. In terms of their look and feel and character." |
Lastly, Ryan K. also gave io an update on the script for the new movie..."Yeah we're still tweaking it, but it's finished," he reveals. "We're very excited about it. The Crow is definitely going to happen, we're just getting all the pieces together right now. It's not officially greenlit, but it's going to happen...I think in a couple months we could have the package together for sure." You can read the full interview by visiting io9 above. Relativity Media meanwhile is behind the new "Crow" film, which is set for a 2011 release.
