But back to the remakes subject matter. I personally hope that the movie does not over-extend itself on the issues of bullying. That it sticks to its horror roots. And doesn't become some after-school-special or PSA on why kids shouldn't bully other kids. At the same time, I would be shocked if the remake just went all out on the blood and gore, and pulls a "Scanners" on us. But is, it time for a remake like this to tackle these issues? Does this movie come at a perfect time in today's society where bullying seems to be the thing to do? Will it even try to tackle that subject? Or will it just avoid it altogether. Thus leaving viewers to project...a little bit? Or a whole lot? |
