Let me explain. The comic has alot of political over and undertones, some of which are subtle. Others more blatant. But with a new adminstration coming into the White House now, I could see the studio possibly reworking all of that considering if "Netherworld" does become a movie, it wouldn't be released until atleast 2011. A long time from now. And a time where people wouldn't wanna look back on the Bush adminstrations various failures, the biggest being a seeming overwhelming and quick urge to wage war. The story also seems too deep and complex for today's audiences, most of which, not all...who have short attention spans, and don't like a side of "too much brain work" to go along with their films. I could see a studio being interested in "Netherworld" as a film, and then turning it into a movie like "DOOM", where people just shoot alot, blow shit up, and drop cool one-liners from time to time. I honestly think this comic is too sharp and edgy for film audiences. And while that may be a bad thing in the cinematic scheme of things, it's a great thing in the comic book reader world. Which is why I recommend you check out "Netherworld" when it hits stores later this year.
