"Silent Hill 2" Moving Forward?

Looks like Davis Films come hell or high-water is gonna get
Silent Hill 2 made. STYD, while recently on the set of
Resident Evil:Afterlife, chatted with well-known makeup effects designer Paul Jones. Jones did work for the first "Silent Hill" movie back in 2006. He revealed to "Shock" that he's working on the upcoming sequel, which is slated to hit cinemas in 2011. "I was working on storyboards for that around the same time last year," Jones says of "SH 2". "It's going to be pretty crazy. There's a lot of cool stuff in there. Roger (Avary) has some awesome ideas and hopefully we're going to bring that to fruition sometime next year." |
Now for those of you keeping score at home, it was originally announced a few months ago that Roger Avary, who wrote the first movie, would be returning to the sequel to write and direct it. However after that, it was revealed Avary was convicted and sentenced to 1 year in prison for his role in a fatal traffic accident which killed a passenger in the car which he was driving drunk in. Seeing as how the sequel is apparently still moving forward, this leads me to believe that Avary's attorney's might somehow have worked out one of those usual Hollywood deals, where he (Avary) could get six months shaved from his sentence for good behavior or something, similar to the deal Michael Vick got. Just speculation though. We'll be sure to keep you guys up to speed on any new "Silent Hill 2" developments as we hear them!
