King, Sullivan Join "Scream Queens 2"!

We got passed along the official press release for VH1's second season of their "search for a horror starlet" show "Scream Queens". Season 2 will feature Jamie King (My Bloody Valentine 3D), as the new female host/judge on the show. She will be joined in the judging duties by filmmaker Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs), and returning for the second season as third judge will be acting coach John Horna.
Season 2's cast will once more be put through the proverbial horror-film boot camp, undertaking intense physical challenges, learning how to work with creatures, gore, how to perform stunts, and also honing their acting skills in the process. King and Horna will be called upon to guide them through the process, while Tim Sullivan will direct their performances. The winning actress will land a role in "Saw 7", which is now being titled as Saw 3D. "Horror films continue to dominate the pop culture landscape and are some of the biggest film franchises out there," said Jeff Olde, EVP of Original Programming and Production for VH1. said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming and Production, VH1.

"Following the success of last season's winner Tanedra Howard in Saw VI, we're looking forward to working with Lionsgate to find the next great horror actress." Meanwhile, Lionsgate's president of television programming and production had this to say regarding the announcement..."Real opportunities to break into feature films are rare in acting competitions and it's great to be able to deliver on that promise. We've enjoyed a terrific collaboration with VH1 on 'Scream Queens,' and look forward to building on the success of the series with even more exciting challenges in Season 2." Lastly, Jason Constantine, Lionsgate president of acquisitions, who oversees the "Saw" series, states..."Tanedra did an amazing job in 'Saw VI,' and we're excited about giving another deserving newcomer a role in 'Saw 3D." Look for "Scream Queens 2" to debut on VH1 sometime in 2010!
