"Ringu" Director Hideo Nakata has reportedly signed on to helm a new supernatural horror-thriller pic entitled
Voice From The Stone, this according to Variety. The pic is being produced by Zanuck Independent, with Dean Zanuck and Stefano Gallini-Durante proucing alongside Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur. In the film, which is based on the Italian cult-novel of the same name, a female psychologist takes on the case of a young boy who made a promise to his dying mother to remain silent until her spirit returns. The psychologist soon begins to realize however that the boy's dead mother has manipulated her in order to take possession of her body so she can be reunited with her son. Mark Wheaton penned the script for the pic, which is due out in 2010 or 2011. |
