[Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! (Strippers vs. Zombies)]
Plot:A drug experiment gone wrong produces a league of blood-thirsty zombies. It is up to a small band of exotic dancers trapped in a gentleman's club to fight back. Together they must rely on their wits and skills to survive the night, and pray that they don't become victims of the flesh-eating zombies!

Cast:Jessica Barton, Hollie Winnard, Lyanna Tumaneng, Sean Harriman, Anthony Headen, Tiffany Shepis, Juliet Reeves, Landon Ashworth, Valensky Sylvain, Michael Clinkenbeard.

My Thoughts:Good throwback horror!

Review:The first film of 2008 involving zombies and strippers, to be released way Jay Lee's "Zombie Strippers". I didn't like that movie, for the reason that it didn't do all the things "Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!" aka "Strippers vs. Zombies" did. This film did everything "Zombies Strippers" failed to do, and with a less talented cast as well. No Robert Englund in this movie, although there was a pretty funny cameo at the start by Tiffany Shepis.

The film follows a doctor who is experimenting with drugs for cure purposes, avoiding the typical mad doctor scenario, already a plus there in my opinion. He tests it on a lab rat, which soon flies into a frenzy, biting and snapping at everything in front of it. This gives us a clue that this drug would have terrible effects should any human consume it. Which is exactly what happens when one of the doctors friends scoops some up into a prescription pill bottle, and takes off with it...hoping to sell some of what he thinks is crack rock so he can make some quick cash to pay back a local pimp called Johnny "Backhand" Vegas.

All of this set in the small town of Asheville where it seems almost all of the local women are either strippers or hookers (go figure). And there's competition between the locla strippers, the main characters of the film, and the local hookers...the supporting characters of the film. It provides the film with an interesting dynamic, watching the two clans trade verbal barbs with one another, along with the hookers pimp Johnny Vegas, played wonderfully by Anthony Headen.

In fact, this film is filled from top to bottom cast wise, with mostly unknown indie actors and actresses....and they all do a great job in the movie. But the laughs turn to sorrow and terror when the drugs taken from the doctors lab are taken by one of Johnny Vegases girls, who then becomes one of the undead...and starts biting her fellow hookers, along with a few locals...and before you know it, the town is overrun by a horde of flesh-eating zombies, causing the hookers, strippers, and Johnny Vegas to put aside their differences for the time being and try and save their town from the walking dead.

Something that's easier said than done. "Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!" is such a great indie horror flick, because it doesn't take itself seriously, gives the male viewer great eye candy in some very beautiful ladies, and also blends comedy and horror perfectly, with great results. The dialogue is crisp, and fits each character perfectly. There's not a single character in this movie that seems or is out of place as far as the dialogue is concerned.

Which is a major plus considering how alot of the times in indie horror films, alot of the casting and dialogue seems out of place with the characters in general. Jason Murphy does a very good job of filming the movie in a modern-grindhouse sort of style, and writer Anthony Steven Giordano cooks up a brilliant script, filled with wit, charm, and a ton of likeable characters. Including the brash and most of the time self-centered Johnny Vegas.

The movie also has a strong throwback feel to it, reminiscent of those old 80's films which were really silly, never took themselves seriously, yet were an enjoyable watch overall because of their cheesiness and outrageous storylines. The music in the movie is also scored very well, and has a strip club tinge to it which makes sense considering it's strippers battling zombies. The zombies aren't slouches either, and if you're looking for a zombie movie with blood, gore, and carnage.....then this film has it in spades.

The blood and gore is overt in this movie, and doesn't cross that line into exploitation...but rather fits tightly and neatly into the movies overall design. There aren't many weak areas of the movie other than a few character deaths which I felt were slightly unfair from a viewer standpoint. I'm all for high body count, but I always hate it when characters I sort of like bite it in a horror movie.

The films finale is very gory and very cool, and has hints of cleverness blended in with a few twists here and there. "Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! is an exceptional indie horror pic, which proves despite being a low budget project, you can indeed do more with less.

Positives:Good performances, high octane blood and gore, likeable characters, hot girls, great dialogue, high entertainment value.

Negatives:A few character deaths I didn't approve of, otherwise nothing major.

Overall:Three and ahalf out of four stars.
