[I Know Who Killed Me]
Plot:An idyllic small town is rocked when Aubrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan), a bright and promising young woman, is abducted and tortured by a sadistic serial killer. When she manages to escape, the traumatized girl who regains consciousness in the hospital insists that she is not who they think she is and that the real Aubrey Fleming is still in mortal danger.

Cast: Lindsay Lohan, Brian Geraghty, Garcielle Beauvais, Neal McDonough.

My Thoughts:I know who bored me.

Review:I really don't know what exactly went on at the studio meeting where the brain trusts at Columbia came up with the idea for "I Know Who Killed Me". Apparently the idea seems to have been Lindsay Lohan meets "Saw" meets "Stigmata" meets "Happy Brithday To Me". That idea however failed, miserably. "I Know Who Killed Me" has Lindsay Lohan playing dual roles, the good girl Aubrey, and a street smart stripper named Dakota. The differences between the characters are pretty much easy to recognize, but the film tries to make things mysterious and intelligent by having Aubrey get nabbed after a football game, and then turning up weeks later by the side of the road, with her body missing a few essential limbs.

Or so we're led to believe. The girl who is found looks exactly like Aubrey, but claims to be Dakota, a stripper with no connection to Aubrey. Aubrey's parents are convinced the trauma of it all has somehow screwed up her head. But is that really the case? Or is Dakota simply not Aubrey? An interesting scenario to say the least, but Jeff Hammond's script just goes around in circles and really doesn't make the most of this interesting story.

The characters themselves are another issue with this film. They simply are not interesting. Sure, the parents of Aubrey aren't exactly expected to be the most interesting in the film, after all they're your "A typical" white suburban upper middle class types, but even Lindsay Lohan as Aubrey/Dakota manages to bore the viewer. Aubrey's screentime isn't lengthy enough to even have her be built up as an actual character, and Dakota tries her best to be a total badass but in reality, if you've seen one red-head with a bad attitude, you've seen them all. Nothing really stands out about either of Lohan's characters, which causes this film to stumble badly because after all, Lindsay is the lead in the picture. The movie also fails to do anything good with it's many subplots.

After the initial kidnapping and then discovering of Aubrey/Dakota's body, two detectives, who have been tracking this killer for awhile show up to play 20 questions with who they think is Aubrey, but of course get nothing of any use because Dakota claims she's isn't Aubrey. Meanwhile, they're also worried that the killer will come for Aubrey again since she is the only girl to have survived after being captured by him, and they desperately need info on him to stop him befoe he strikes again. This killer also seems to have a penchant for torturing his victims ala films like "Saw" and "Captivity", by severing limbs methodically as they're strapped t operating tables. Alot of things are here for this film to really toy with and use to entertain and chill, but the script is so trapped and locked in one particular space, that it just never makes it around to doing so.

"I Know Who Killed Me" does offer up some really comedic moments, surprisingly enough. Mostly involving Aubrey's boyfriend Jerrod who interacts with Dakota with some very "interesting" results. But when the interaction between an alleged "skitso" and her overly-hormonal boyfriend is the bright spot in a so called horror/thriller, it indeed is not a good thing. To add to the boredom that is "I Know Who Killed Me", the film...seemingly aware that by the middle of act three, the audience is fast asleep, grabs for straws in what is supposed to be a twist ending.

I personally didn't see it as a twist ending, as I did a predictable and sad one, and while the events which lead up to the events of the films climax are slightly intriguing, they're so cliche and unoriginal that even the films finale just falls flat on most levels. "I Know Who Killed Me" is a film one should avoid if you're A. Looking for something hardcore, B. Like your horror films to actually be scary, or C. Like your horror films to atleast be entertaining. But if you're a Lindsay Lohan fan, you'll probably love this movie despite it's beleaguered script and hollow characters.

Positives:Lindsay Lohan does an okay job as Dakota/Aubrey. The torture scenes are pretty gruesome.

Negatives:Weak script, poor acting by most of the cast. An overall lack of entertainment value, too many cliches, and a poorly written ending.

Overall:Total Waste.
