Browsers
This site was designed to be compliant with W3C web standards. It displays as it is designed in Firefox and to a certain extent in Internet Explorer 7 and Opera v9.1. Older versions of IE do not manage to display all the features ('hidden' menus, for instance) and the site has not yet been tested in other browsers.
You will need a pdf viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat, in order to view some of the files belonging to this site.
The site is a Javascript-free zone. Best viewed in Mozilla Firefox.
Acronyms and technical terms
Rather than explain constantly what the acronym is on the page, the full title can be displayed by hovering the cursor over the acronym. The existence of the explanation can be deduced by looking for the dotted border beneath text in IE7 and Firefox at least, although older versions of IE don't display this - in these browsers, a dashed border has been used instead. Holding the cursor over the text should show a 'help' cursor (arrow with a '?' beside it, and display the full text in an information banner. If you don't see the dotted border, hover the cursor over the acronym in any case, as the text should still display.
Links
Links throughout this site are coloured blue, and should show an underline when hovered over [example]. Links that take you out of the site are indicated with this symbol:
, and those that lead to pdf and Word document downloads are also indicated, along with the file size of the download.
Printing
This site should already be printer-friendly: try a print preview to judge. The pages have been adjusted to show none of the navigation buttons across the page, nor images that are not contained in the main content sections. Links will be underlined, and links leading to external sites should have their URL displayed in parentheses after the link.
If you really want to print the backgroung images and colours (not recommended, as this will be heavy on ink and slow print speeds, you will need to change the settings under your browser options: in IE this is found under 'tools', 'internet options'; in Firefox under 'file', 'page setup'.
