Protected Areas
Six Ramsar sites have been proposed for the island, covering some 3,610ha, although none have yet been officially designated. The sites are: Central Valley Curragh; Dalby Peatlands; Gob ny rona, Maughold Head & Port Cornaa; Southern Coasts and Calf of Man; The Ayres; and the Ballaugh Curragh.
